The Creative Hub Mental Health Support Initiative in Nova Scotia
The Creative Hub Mental Health Support Initiative in Nova Scotia is a program aimed at providing comprehensive mental health support to immigrants, entrepreneurs, newcomers, and international students.
In its first year, the initiative seeks to engage 300 participants and achieve a 20% reduction in feelings of isolation, stress, and anxiety. It offers online counselling, educational webinars, support groups, and an online resource hub to address the unique challenges faced by these groups and foster a healthier and more inclusive community.
Anticipated outcomes include improved mental well-being, increased knowledge and coping skills, enhanced community engagement and integration, wide accessibility and usage of resources, transparent reporting, and potential scalability and expansion.
The first phase of this project is made possible by a collaboration and support of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia with an initial contribution of $25,000.
The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is a registered charity dedicated to the mission of making a difference in the lives of Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction, and their loved ones by funding mental health programs and services province-wide.
In 2023-24, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia distributed more than $2.8 million to fund mental health programs and services through the Community Grants Program.
