Caring for Kids New to Canada

Funded by the Government of Canada, Caring for Kids New to Canada is a comprehensive resource developed by the Canadian Paediatric Society for health professionals working with immigrant and refugee children and youth. The site offers evidence-based information on assessing and screening patients, managing medical conditions, promoting health, understanding child development, and navigating cultural and health systems. It includes children advocacy, education, and community resources. It aims to eliminate health disparities between newcomer children and their Canadian-born peers by enhancing healthcare providers' ability to deliver effective services, policies and programs. It also emphasizes the use of skilled interpreters in healthcare settings.
